More Christmas Shenanigans

I've been super busy prepping my projects for Christmas. I'm happy to report that Christmas cards are done and ready to be addressed! Such a relief.

With cards off of the to do list I spent some time over Thanksgiving working on my next project, an advent calender for my son Jackson. He just turned three so I know that Christmas is going to be really fun for him this year.

I wanted to have something that he could open that contained a small gift or slip of paper with an activity for the day. Luckily, I have my handy dandy box punch board from Stampin' Up! I whipped up 24 2 inch boxes in no time. Here are the pictures:

Filling the boxes with goodies!

My wonderful husband was inspired to create a little Christmas Tree shelf for the boxes to sit on. I think it is very festive.

Here is a closer shot of the finished product. I'm very happy with the way that it turned out. Jackson has loved opening a box each day.

Endless Wishes

I'm definitely feeling the Christmas spirit! Here is another design that I am making for my Christmas cards this year.

When I saw the "Endless Wishes" stamp set in Stampin' Up's holiday catalog, I knew that I had to do my Christmas cards with this set. I love the playful snowflakes and the versatility of the sentiments that come with this set.

This is a great card if you are looking for something simple. I stamped the snowflakes and sentiment in Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate, and Pool Party. I added some rinestones for some bling. THe design on the side is actually washi tape from the All Is Calm collection. This one will be quick and easy to mass produce but still looks fantastic.

I'm loving these sets so much that I just might have to come up with some additional designs or maybe some tags for packages.

See the full list of supplies I used below. Don't forget to shop for your own Christmas card supplies by clicking on the "Shop Now" button at the top of the page.

Clean and Simple Thank You Challenge

The creative juices are flowing again and I've decided to enter another challenge. This one is the Paper Players Challenge #222: Ann's Clean and Simple Challenge. The challenge is to create an clean and simple thank you card. I started to reach for my thanksgiving colors and stamp sets but inspiration took me in another direction.

Here's what I came up with:

I used VersaMark to stamp the darker dots and craft white to stamp the white dots. I couldn't resist adding some sparkle (I'm starting to think this may be an inadvertent trademark of mine!).

I recently participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in memory of my grandmother. I had several people who donated money and this card would be a perfect way to thank them for their support.

You can find the supplies that I used below.

Let the Christmas Projects Begin!!!

So sorry to be gone for so long! I had family come to town to visit, my son's 3rd birthday, and the busiest time of year at work all in the past month. Needless to say, this didn't leave much time for stamping. Thankfully, the holiday season is upon us which means tons of projects to get done!

The first thing I am attacking is designing my Christmas card. I love to give handmade Christmas cards and I have several friends and family members that look forward to seeing what I come up with every year (no pressure, right?). Stampin' Up's holiday catalog has so many cute sets that I will probably have a few different designs that I send out this year.

Here is the first card that I came up with. I am loving the green and blues for cards this year. It's nice to get away from the traditional green and red sometimes.

This card uses the Festival of Trees set and I cannot get enough! This set lends itself to many different styles and the photopolymer is so easy to use. I stamped both trees in Pear Pizzazz. I used the two time stamping on the tree on the right to add some silver ink. I also used some rhinestones and popped the tree up to give it dimension. I wrapped some silver ribbon around the bottom and added my sentiment. Check out the rest of the supplies that I used below.

I will be posting another design later this week that is more of a clean and simple design. I also have some other projects in mind that I am excited to share.

New Holiday Supplement

Sorry to be MIA for a couple of weeks. Family was visiting from the east coast so blogging took a backseat for a bit.

Now...on to the big news. Stampin' Up! has released a supplement to the holiday catalog. This supplement has several kits and Project Life offerings. You can check it out below.

I'm loving the star boxes. This would be a great kit if you like to give unique handmade gifts during the holidays.

September Paper Pumpkin

Do you love paper crafting but feel overwhelmed by the assortment of stamps, paper, and tools you feel are needed? Do you feel like you need some help with inspiration for great projects? Paper Pumpkin may be for you! Paper Pumpkin is a subscription service that provides a kit delivered to your home address every month. The kit contains everything that you need, including stamps and ink, to create a beautiful project. I love the surprise showing up on my doorstep each month.

September's kit contains a Halloween themed project where you can make 6 cute burlap treat bags. Here is one of the bags that I made with only the items from the kit.

The great thing about the kit is that if you want to do more, you can! I whipped up this quick card with some of the materials from the kit and some other things that I had on hand.

I stamped and embossed the raven with some black embossing powder to give a bit of shine. I also used an embossing folder to give some texture. I think it turned out to be a cute and simple card.

If you want to try Paper Pumpkin, you can sign up here

The supplies that I used to make the card are listed below.

Paper Players Sketch Challenge #215

The first thing I bought from the holiday mini catalog was the Endless Wishes stamp set. I've been looking for an opportunity to break this set out and this week,  The Paper Players sketch challenge has provided me with the perfect inspiration. I love these playful snowflakes.
